I’m in a really special position, because I’ve worked with several first-generation self-made multimillionaire entrepreneurs. I hate to sound like a cliche here, but one IS often the loneliest number as an Entrepreneur. Yes, we love our autonomy to do what we want to do when we want to do it, but we also really need each other in community, in support, to bounce ideas off of one another, find the humor in challenging situations, hold the vision for one another, and to celebrate our wins together!

So we book our seminars, schedule our flights and hotel reservations and plug in with our peeps for several days of pure magic. And then we come home vibrating with anticipation of all the good to come of it, and suddenly we’re back to the quiet isolation of our home offices.

That’s when the reality sets in... We realize we’ve still got to make it all happen on our own. Yes, ideally with the help of our team or the team we’re planning to implement as soon as cash flow picks up. But let’s face it… holding the vision isn’t always easy. Keeping the momentum going strong can often be a challenge.

How Do I Know? Because I’ve Been There Too…

If you had a corporate life before you became an Entrepreneur, you’ll definitely be able to relate to this… When I was in corporate, I was really, really good. I was so good, in fact, that they kept giving me higher and higher responsibilities. In no time at all, I was working what felt like 5 full time jobs on one salary. I was developing boot-camps and train-the-trainer programs that were making the company millions. I was also marketing them with press releases and representing them at live events. So you can imagine I was working 80-100 hour workweeks with lots of nights and weekends.

After that kind of intensity, I thought Entrepreneurship and running my own company would be a cakewalk. After all, I studied graduate level psychology and business at the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!!!). My degree is in Organizational (Business) Psychology. I figured it couldn't be any harder to be an Entrepreneur than a Director of Business Development, right?

I was SOOOOOOOOO wrong… ;-)

When I became an Entrepreneur, I learned quickly that there were entire skill sets that I needed to learn.

Does any of this sound familiar?

• I thought I would be working less, and ended up working more…
• I thought I would be making more, and ended up tapping into my savings and retirement accounts…
• I thought I would have more free time, and ended up with no free time…
• I thought it would be easy to implement new programs, but there was a fairly steep learning curve which meant it took longer than I anticipated…
• I thought I would be CEO, and ended up working so hard in the business wearing all the hats (including resident dog walker) that I rarely had time to work on the business…
  

The good news is…

…It Doesn’t Have to Be That Way

I realized I needed to turn things around and fast, or else my business wasn’t going to succeed. I’m sure you’ve heard the stats that nearly 85% of all businesses fail in the first year and of those remaining, most fail within the next 5 years. Eeeouch!

Those stats are true of most anyone who achieves success in higher education, day trading, business, and entrepreneurship. To be the “Best of the Best” means you have to go above and beyond what you ever thought possible.

So I invested in my future…

Now I truly work less, make more, and have more free time than I ever thought possible. And in the last year I’ve moved from an “unconscious competent manifester” (which means I attracted great things into my life without knowing how I did it), into a life of a “conscious competent manifester” (which means I’m getting better and better at manifesting great experiences at will)…
